“Stop these media trials against my party”: CM Mamata told media organizations allegedly trying to tarnish TMC’s reputation

the BJP is involving businessmen too in this dirty politics..

Ankur Chatterjee: After CM Mamata Banerjee’s cabinet colleague and senior Trinamool leader Partha Chatterjee was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in association with a school recruitment scam in the state, she burst out on media organizations for allegedly propagating a “malicious smear campaign” against her and her party.

She strongly asserted that no matter what portfolio or affiliation an individual holds, if the hon’ble court finds him/her responsible, he/she has to be punished. Ms. Banerjee also said, “the centre should put an end using its agencies and paid media like weapons of maligning opposition leaders and parties.”

During a cultural program of Titagarh Wagons, Ms. Banerjee used the stage to denounce media trials in the scam.

“Let’s not make a big issue of one or two bad apples. Trinamool Congress is an institution made from the sweat and blood of honest and dedicated nation workers. I’m not saying we should ignore the mistakes, but unless the allegations are proven by the court, I’ll not tolerate any further targeted campaign by the “godi” media against my party.” Ms. Banerjee said

She claimed, along with opposition leaders, the BJP is involving businessmen too in this dirty politics. “Everyone everywhere in this country are being threatened by the ruling BJP,” she added

“What problem will I have with agencies doing their job honestly?! Just stop fulfilling your political vendetta through the probe agencies,” Ms. Banerjee said addressing the centre ruling party.

“These days, if you protest against something, you are punished,” she said, referring to the suspension of 19 opposition members from Rajya Sabha on Tuesday. Seven of the suspended MPs are from the Trinamool Congress and six from the DMK.

“I can talk about the numbers and where they will be coming from,” she stated, asserting that the saffron party will lose elections in 2024. I am, however, convinced that the BJP will not be elected.”
